Wind Walkers: Theo Jansen's Strandbeests at ArtScience Museum

EXHIBITION
Dutch artist Theo Jansen is sending his prized Strandbeests to our shores. In fact entirely non-living, his world-renowned creatures made of PVC and wood are powered by wind, and spend their days moving gracefully across beaches (hence their name, which translates to “beach animal” in Dutch). Head to the ArtScience Museum for an exclusive look at this new species, where you can look at “fossils” of past beests, and even walk alongside 13 original Strandbeests. Through Sep 30

FILM
It's been four months since we saw the staging of George Orwell's 1984 for the opening of this year's Singapore International Festival of Arts. But if you missed, don't fret. You can catch the dystopian masterpiece in film at Blu Jaz Cafe. Jun 25

EXHIBITION
The eighth edition of Singapore Art Museum’s annual family-friendly contemporary art exhibition explores the concept of time. Ten artists and art collectives from around the world have taken over SAM at 8Q for Imaginarium: Into the Space of Time, presenting immersive and interactive installations exploring the tales and theories that shape our memories and future. PVRIS' brand of music is a great mix of guitars, drums and electronic elements, with a dash of pop sensibility; it's no wonder they’ve grown a massive following since they formed in 2012 under a different name. CONCERT
British artists Stephen Triffitt, Mark Adams and George Daniel Long—better known as The Definitive Rat Pack—found their claim to fame interpreting music greats Sinatra, Martin and Davis. They're bringing their sold-out show to Singapore to perform faithful re-creations of familiar hits like "Fly Me To The Moon", "Come Fly With Me", "Sway" and more. Jun 26-27

2018 has shaped up to be a fantastic year for Marvel. Besides the two epic movies releasing to staggering global success, they're also presenting Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes at ArtScience Museum, which delves into the science and tech behind the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you're looking for a show that will rattle the feels in you, catch The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas at Workcentral Singapore; a film set during WWII which follows eight-year-old Bruno and his family as they leave Berlin to live near a concentration camp where his father is the head honcho. One day, he wanders out to explore the surroundings and makes an unlikely friend, a Jewish boy in prisoner's clothes named Shmuel behind a barbed-wire fence of where Bruno's father works. Jun 27

DANCE
The M1 Contact Contemporary Festival returns for its ninth run, presenting 16 shows of 28 dance works from 14 different nationalities across six performance platforms. Through Aug 5

EXHIBITION
Chinese New Year may be long over, but this new exhibition looks at the Chinese zodiac through the eyes of European artists. The internationally renowned Mazel Galerie from Brussels has commissioned The Great Race, a new exhibition that takes source material from the traditional Chinese zodiac. Through Jun 30
