Dover Street Market Singapore
High-fashion concept store Dover Street Market marks its fourth international outlet at Dempsey
New kid on the Dempsey block Dover Street Market (DSM) Singapore is hardly a stranger to the fast and fabulous lifestyle. The multi-brand, high fashion concept store founded by Comme des Garcons’ Rei Kawakubo and originating in London has made waves in the fashion world for its edgy, high-end collaborations and unique decor—waves that have finally reached our shores. The Singapore outlet will mark DSM’s fourth outlet in the world, and is the first and only DSM housed entirely on one floor. The outlet in Ginza, Tokyo has seven floors, while the London branch has five.
Opened officially on Jul 29, DSM Singapore is housed within Tanglin Village as part of the lifestyle quarter Como Dempsey. The store itself comes to life inside refurbished army barracks, and is home to 25 brands, including more than 10 unique-to-Singapore collaboration collections. For more mainstream shoppers, the biggest draw at DSM Singapore, perhaps, is the arrival of NikeLab—sportswear giant Nike’s curated line of limited edition footwear.
Championing the same focus on interior design and aesthetic of the DSM brand, DSM Singapore is no doubt worth a trip down to the suburban Dempsey maze, even if you aren’t a fan of cult fashion brands or couture. Still, that’s not to say you won’t be tempted to drop your dough on some seriously fresh pieces.
