SINGAPORE RESTAURANT

Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle (Smith Street)

The cheapest Michelin-starred meal gets its own restaurant in Chinatown.

Chef Chan Hon Meng, owner of Michelin-starred Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle, has joined forces with Hersing Culinary to open an air-conditioned restaurant, a stone throw away from the hawker stall at Chinatown Food Centre. The restaurant will oversee a new automated ordering system, alongside the same soya sauce chicken rice and noodles that have brought him success.

Expect dishes like the soya sauce chicken rice ($3.80), soya sauce chicken noodle ($4.50), char siew rice ($4) and other roast delights. The prices of the dish are slightly bumped up, but we are getting to tuck into these renowned dishes sans the hawker setting that some of us may not be a fan of. There are also a few sides you can order such as their soya bean sprouts ($3) and Thai-style tofu ($5. Wash it all down with their Chinese flower tea or Tiger Beer.
