Now with wine-pairing and a custom built gin garden

Forget the tourist attractions Resorts World Sentosa has to offer; from Sep 27-30, indulge in our national pastime and taste from over 30 signature and new dishes by award-winning and Michelin-starred restaurants at the Great Food Festival (TGFF). Though the closure of Joel Rubuchon together with the disappointing results of the third Michelin Guide mean there won't be any three-star Michelin restaurants present (unlike their inaugural run last year), there are still a ton of gastronomic delights that await.

For this year's festival, the main Star Chef Arena will see two new faces: Dutch chef Richard Van Oostenbrugge (Restaurant 212) and Chef Yonemura (Teppan). Chef Yonemura will be bringing a French-Japanese concept to the table with his Wagyu Sirloin Shabu Shabu dish—if you often can’t decide between hotpot and teppanyaki, this one's for you .

Returning chefs include female chef Iron Chef Cat Cara (Ocean Restaurant), brothers Enrico and Roberto Cerea (Fratelli Trattoria) and Sam Leong (Forest 森). We’re also looking forward to some elevated local dishes such as Chilli Crab with Sakura Obi Spring Onion Pancake by Susur Lee (Tung Lok Heen), as well as other delicious meats like Seared Boneless Beef Short Rib by Thai chef Ian Kittichai (Tangerine) and Pan Fried Foie Gras by Scott Webster and Douglas Tay (Osia Steak and Seafood Grill).

Remember to leave some room for dessert (or don’t, since we think it deserves a different stomach anyway) to experience Rollin’ Sweet Times, the festival's dessert segment, at TGFF. Try Joe Leong’s take on a reconstructed egg tart, before heading over to the Nitrogen Lab to customize your own dessert and drinks. And if you’re an avid fan of those baking challenges on Masterchef, Australian patissier Philip Khoury will also be holding his first-ever masterclass to uncover the secrets to baking, so stay tuned for details.

The new Wine Cellar segment also offers wine lovers an opportunity to experience unique wine pairings from an array of countries that include Spain, France, and South Africa, with the finest cuts of meat and cheese. For those who enjoy something stronger, TGFF will be showcasing Asia’s first ever thematic gin bar—a custom-built Tanqueray Gin Garden featuring Tanqueray London Dry Gin, Tanqueray No.10 and Tanqueray Rangpur. 

One last interesting instalment of the festival is the Feast of Kings: A thematic dining experience where attendees will partake in a medieval-style banquet hosted by celebrity chefs. Game of Thrones, anyone? 


The Great Food Festival is happening from Sep 27-30 at Resorts World Sentosa, 8 Sentosa Gateway. Early bird tickets are on sale now till Aug 13 at $40 for a four-day pass and $138 for a group bundle of four.
