Ann Siang House
Great F&B options in what was formerly The Club
Occupying a corner space of buzzy Ann Siang Road is heritage hotel Ann Siang House, which took on its new name and persona as of Mar 1, 2018. Formerly The Club, also a boutique hotel, new owners 8M Real Estate have largely kept the space as it was, but improved upon its offerings with a dedicated pop-up space, new F&B concepts and a new coat of paint.
Inside are 20 rooms—seperated into Deluxe, Executive and Suite categories—with modern facilities and luxe in-room amenities. Though offering contemporary practicalities, the rooms still distinctly convey a sense of local flair, especially with its choice of furnishings and art pieces.
More interesting are the new restaurants and bars. Of all the former concepts, only Tiger’s Milk, a Peruvian rooftop bar, remains. Then there's popular Blue Label Pizza & Wine that occupies a prime underground spot accessibe from a back alley on main street. And keeping things interesting is the hotel's rotating epicurean pop-up program, which sees different brands taking over the ground floor spaces for limited time periods.
The pop-up program currently holds three brands—Perbacco, CULT and The Guild. The first is an Italian restaurant and bar serving up traditional comfort food, but stands out with an emphasis on lesser-known Northern specialties and a stellar wine list. CULT and The Guild actually occupies the same corner space in the hotel. The former is a pop-up coffee bar by the roasters behind Upside Down Coffee Alternatives on Amoy Street, operating in the daytime, while the latter is a contemporary eating house featuring a craft beer lineup by Hong Kong’s famed Young Master Brewery, which operates from 5pm till late.
