Established in 1990, The Substation is Singapore's first independent contemporary arts centre. Working mostly with Singaporean artists, the gallery promotes experimentation, innovation and diversity through its programmes, while over the years it has welcomed diverse and challenging contemporary visual, performance and sound art.

Events Happening at The Substation
Local live music stalwarts Jack and Rai will be supporting the year-long Guinness Amplify music program which features up and coming local artists. You can always expect to hear their usual fare of easy going acoustic-rock melodies. Other than popular rock covers, look out for original hits like “The Fa La La Song” and “Release Me.”
If a heady mix of music, deft martial arts movements and airborne acrobatics are sure to get the adrenaline pumping faster than you can say Enrique Iglesias, capoeira is for you. If you're interested in some acrobatic high-jinks Brazilian-style, look up Capoeira Master Ousado of the local chapter of the Association of Capoeira Argola De Ouro.
