A gorgeous new reading space in Kampong Glam also gives you a free cup of tea.
The Lo & Behold Group moved to Beach Road earlier this year, and decided to turn their ground level into a library. Why is that good news for you? The lovely reading room, located in an 1820s shop house on an already exciting stretch of Kampong Glam, is also open to the public.
The 50 sq m space, which seats 25 people, is in itself a work of art—a four-arch entrance, pastel interiors, natural light and beautifully shaped seating and furniture that Wes Anderson would approve of. Using a cute Singaporean colloquialism for its name, Looksee Looksee, with its selection of books curated by Singaporean creatives such as Kenny Leck from BooksActually, Artichoke's Bjorn Shen, Papa Palheta's Leon Foo and others, invites people to wander in and explore.
Best part? While you browse, enjoy a cup of tea on the house by local specialty tea company, A.muse Projects, served in handcrafted vessels made by local ceramicist, Ivan Lee.
