A night-time arts market, fleas, and a bazaar of local lit

It’s a merry time for markets this month. As if your March weren't already packed with activities; pick up preloved goodies at a flea, socialize at one of the many art market-parties, or swing by this year’s BuySingLit bazaar for some good local reads. Money down you’ll be broke but happy.

Katong Square Lifestyle & Vintage Market (Mar 9)

A new month calls for a new Katong Square market, which, with its vinyl records and vintage goods, touts itself as Singapore’s only true blue vintage flea market. Resident booths include familiar names like The Retro Factory, Memory Lane and The Great Vinyl Exchange; but be sure to hit up the “casual booths” for preloved bargains.

BuySingLit Book Bazaar (Mar 9-11)

BuySingLit Bazaar 2017

The nationwide literary movement #BuySingLit is back for a second year, with workshops, installations, and a ton of free activities. But surely everything boils down to the Book Bazaar, where hopefully you’ll be convinced to part with your cash and support our well-deserved local authors. Organized by BooksActually at The Arts House, the bazaar will include titles from major publishers like Epigram Books, Math Paper Press and more. As an added perk, a selection of SingLit titles will be made available for your casual browsing at The Lawn outside.

As part of the event, Yeo Workshop will present a new exhibition called "Sovereign Heads", an immersive walk-through of Polish artist Marcin Dudek’s subcultural works inspired by the anxieties of the working class. A line-up of house, disco, funk and soul will keep you dancing from 2pm till 10pm.
