Looks like Feb is the month of wellness

With Valentine's Day (Feb 14) and Chinese New Year (Feb 16) just days apart, February is set to be a pretty joyous month. As the new month approaches, stock up on new clothes, pretty trinkets and festive goodies at the markets. And if you don't celebrate either; well, no harm popping by for a look.

CNY Pop-up Market @ Capitol Piazza (Feb 3-4)

Need some last-minute threads for the Lunar New Year? In collaboration with Capitol Piazza, event creator W Market is hosting its next big event just in time for Chinese New Year. Happening in the Outdoor Plaza, the market will host retail, crafts and F&B vendors, and even have fitting rooms for anxious buyers—a first for such markets. To really pump up the festive feels, a roving Cai Shen Ye (God of Fortune) and LED Lion Dance will join the market on both days, in the afternoon and evening respectively.

Esquina’s Food Market (Feb 4)

Forget your siestas this Sunday, damas y caballeros. To celebrate turning six (an impressive feat for any dining establishment here), Esquina is holding their very own food market, fashioned as a mini rendition of the famous Barcelona food market “La Boqueria”. On offer are $5 pintxos—essentially tapas on toothpicks—prepared by chef Carlos Montobbio, and fellow amigos chef Daniel Chavez of Ola Cocina del Mar and Chef Manel Valero of Wine RVLT. The tipples will be divided into themes of “fishmonger”, “butcher” and “baker”, and served at the respective market stations. There’ll also be music, dance, and $10 vino and draft beer.

CNY Market by Fuego #6 (Feb 8-10)

Better known within the farmers market community, Market by Fuego is a roving farmers market that was founded on the love for all things good and edible. With a focus on reducing food waste, the market lineup typically showcases food and ingredients grown from artisans around the globe—such as organic teas from Agora Products, and fresh fish from local specialty food shop Kuhlbarra. The sixth edition of the market takes place at Changi City Point over three days.

Farmers Market at Loewen Gardens (Feb 10)

The trusty Farmers Market at Loewen Gardens is back on the second Saturday of the month, with a good mix of organic vegetables, bread, wine, olive oil and fresh honey on sale. This month, pick up some healthy treats to whip up the perfect Valentine’s meal for your loved one. Brands to catch include The Frank Food Company, Salut-Lebanon and SPGranola (for your organic toppings on salads and acai bowls). Fitness group Body Temple will be holding a free 30-minute session of their Temple Circuit class on-site too.

Freedom Yoga presents SoulFest (Feb 10)

Yoga people Freedom Yoga are switching things up and adding a little retail therapy to their usual healing, in their very first boutique fair at their Cecil Street studio. You can still expect a series of special classes—like choreographed yoga flow, Blindfold Yoga, and even a healing Sound Bath session—but there’ll also be a mini market of products and food. Vendors include Grain Traders, Candles of Light, Gorilla Press and more; plus, pick up some pre-loved yoga attire if you aren’t fussed.

Ritual x The Blvck Market (Feb 10)

It’s a party with Ritual, which returns this time to everyone’s favorite carpark bar at The Projector. From 1-7pm, The Blvck Market presents a free-admission lineup of artisanal and food vendors. While you’re browsing, splurge on craft beer from Pirate Life Brewing, Stockade Brew Co. and more, or go hard with vodka cocktails and highballs from Laplandia Vodka (shopping can be a stressful affair). After 7pm, it’s a ticketed affair that gives you entry to a wild party, headlined by local DJs such as former Zouk resident Brendon P. and W Hotel’s Mr. Has.
