It´s the latest "in" place in the hip Dempsey vicinity, but has received mixed reviews since its opening. We were apprehensive about going, but fortunately The White Rabbit passed the test. In fact, so hot was the restaurant that our attempt to reserve a table was initially unsuccessful, but we were advised to go down anyway to try our luck. Thankfully, we managed to snag a table quickly.

The restaurant was spacious, airy and boasted a charming, old-world vibe, despite the random tai-tais sprinkled throughout. The set lunch seemed like a pretty nice deal, so we went for that. Our starters of soup of the day (cauliflower soup), poached egg and asparagus, and salad of salmon confit were all good, especially the fresh, tender salmon. Our mains of pan roasted red mullet with braised fennel and tomato herb fondue, US choice ribeye steak and herb risotto with grilled king oyster mushrooms were also very decent. The Mars Bar soufflé and The White Rabbit black forest cake desserts were great too.

We will be back for dinner to try the pricier mains, to prove our experience the first time round was no fluke.

The new brunch menu crafted by head chef Benjamin Tan doesn't disappoint. Chow down on a wagyu quarter pounder with sauteed mushrooms ($28), a maine lobster and cheese omelette ($38), or simply drop by for some raisin bread and butter pudding ($16).
