While there are many Starbucks Reserve stores dotted around the island by now, each offering a cuppa made from small batch coffee beans, this revamped United Square outlet is the only one offering draught nitro cold brew ($5.90 for Tall). Yes, the presentation is exactly as you would expect from your usual beer on tap, except what comes out is coffee rather than booze.
The outlet, encased within a glass house, is also the first Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar in Singapore, which encourages interaction between customers and the baristas, who have all gone through extensive training in order to be knowledgeable about the brews they serve, their flavor profiles, as well as having the know-how to operate a variety of brewing methods.
The Siphon and Chemex methods are especially interesting, and Instastory-worthy, as is the use of the Black Eagle espresso machine, which makes its debut in a Starbucks store in Singapore.
