Singapore restaurant REVIEW:
Lawry's The Prime Rib Singapore Chope

With its prime location and its British tea room theme, one has to expect a bit of cheesiness from Lawry’s ambiance. While the prices are decidedly fine dining, the atmosphere is a little more kitsch with waitresses in aprons and bonnets and gimmicks like the spinning salad.

Still, that doesn’t take away from the food, which is well above average. The Lawry’s prime rib cut is 285 grams of succulent beef. While it might not have been the most tender or delicious we’d ever had, it was pretty darn good, especially with the Idaho mashed potatoes that came on the side. But, surprisingly, even better was our mixed lobster tails—three perfectly cooked and deliciously fresh Atlantic lobster tails cooked three different ways.

The broiled and grilled tails with garlic butter were both fantastic, but we were blown away by the stir fried chili tail which was truly to die for. Although we might have expected a slightly larger portion for the price we were paying, considering how delectable they were, we were prepared to be forgiving. Finish this all off with a tiramisu and that’s one satisfying meal. Despite the spinning salad.
