Cheek by Jowl

A modern Australian degustation restaurant on Boon Tat Street

Led by husband-wife duo Rishi Naleendra and Manuela Toniolo, Modern Australian restaaurant Cheek by Jowl has been the toast of the town this year among Singapore's foodies. The chef team cut their teeth in Sydney at the likes of Tetsuya and the menu has a tapas-style inclination towards shareable plates and mains, with seasonal ingredients, such as wild venison tartare and their signature pan fried local barramundi with braised leek, bonito butter and caramelised onion.

Led by husband-wife duo Rishi Naleendra and Manuela Toniolo (who opened the lovely, produce-driven Maca at Tanglin Post Office), Cheek by Jowl is billing itself as modern Australian. The chef team cut their teeth in Sydney at the likes of Tetsuya (also true of Sam Aisbett of the other hot new modern Australian in town, Whitegrass). The menu will have a tapas-style inclination towards shareable plates and mains, with seasonal ingredients, such as wild venison tartare and Naleendra’s signature duck and waffles dish.
