Antipasti, Italian sharing plates and pizzas come together on HongKong Street in the form of Amo, a smart-casual Italian eatery and bar named after the colloquial term of endearment in Italy, “amore”. Amo’s specialties are reimagined Italian classics that prioritize ingredients made in-house by hand, and served amid good company in a converted '50s shophouse.

The menu is vast, with large mains meant for sharing like the Spaghettoni with Boston Lobster and Tarragon ($78), Grilled Angus Beef Tagliata with Sunchoke Mash ($48), and the House Cured Meats and Cheese Platter ($38)—a curated selection of specialty salami that works as a starter too.

But that’s not why you’re here. Make a beeline for the handmade artisan pastas and Amo’s light, doughy pizzas, wood-fired and baked to perfection. There’s the classic cheese-and-tomato Margherita DOP ($26), but also original signatures like the Friarielli, Pancetta and Pumpkin ($28). Wash down the carbs with the bar’s all-Italian selection of wines, beers and spirit-forward cocktails, in the lush outdoor courtyard and terrace.
