We’ll be the first to admit it: Slushies are treats no one can ever grow out of. But 7-11 slurpees just don’t cut it when you’re working 9-to-5 and in need of a stronger pick-me-up. Enter the very newly opened Sluviche, Keong Saik’s latest dining addition specializing in Peruvian ceviche and adult slushies.

The adult slushies are essentially a boozy frozen treat—like slurpees, but with that much-needed alcoholic kick—inspired by the vibrant drive-thru daiquiri culture in New Orleans. For now, there’s only two options available on the menu—Pisco Punch ($15) and Pisco Sour ($15), but Sluviche’s beverage menu is not one to be trifled with, offering a good range of European and Mediterranean cocktails, to wines, to Asian sakes and spirits.

Completing the menu and restaurant name (Sluviche is a cheeky play on the words ‘ceviche’ and ‘slushie’) is ceviche—a popular Peruvian raw seafood dish that has us convinced Peruvian is the next big cuisine trend. At Sluviche, the protein-heavy ceviches are brightly colored and textured in flavor, and light enough so you won’t be too stuffed after a meal; available in scallops, tuna, shrimp, Buri (yellowtail) or Fiji (swordfish), all the ceviches come with a side of sourdough. With light bites and low-maintenance drinks, refuelling at midday has never been this attractive.

Sluviche is located on the second floor of 17A Keong Saik Rd., and is open from Tue-Sat.
