Paradise for anyone who lives to eat

Ready your stomachs and hold on to your linen napkins, guys—one of Singapore's most highly anticipated food festivals is back. The World Gourmet Summit (WGS) returns for its 22nd edition from Apr 2 to 29 and, naturally, you can expect the very best of international and local chefs from Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, and America taking the spotlight to whip up delicious bite-sized gastronomy and degustation dinners.

A lot of details are still up in the air, but rest assured there'll be tons of dinners, gourmet events and masterclasses that you've grown to love over the past years to attend. Keeping in line of this year’s focus to bring some of the world’s lesser known, but still exciting cuisines to the fore, look out for a spectacular Hungarian dining experience at The Fullerton Bay Hotel’s La Brasserie presented by chef Peter Szabo of Budapest's luxurious Mediterranean restaurant La Parrilla (Apr 21), a Polish culinary journey at Wooloomooloo Steakhouse courtesy of one of Poland’s top chefs and owner of Bulaj, Artur Moroz (Apr 17), and a double whammy back-to-back Irish gastronomic masterclass and luncheon by one of Ireland’s top chefs Kevin Thornton over at Miele (Apr 19). Of course, we'll also be seeing some locally-based heroes like Odette's chef-owner Julien Royer, (fun fact: he was named Chef of the Year for the second consecutive time at last year's WGS Awards of Excellence), who will be delving deep into his French roots to present an exhaustive heritage dinner (Apr 12).

Besides those obviously exciting affairs, WGS is also bringing back the market-style UNGA event at Chijmes (Apr 15), where you can walk around the open-space-turned-gourmet-marketplace for a sumptuous day of meeting the chefs in person and trying out a variety of dishes from about 40 different booths.

There’s a whole calendar of events you can check out here. More info will roll out in the coming days.
