The buzz: This latest drinking joint in Clarke Quay features an aviator-themed concept. To add to the vibe, the waiters are all garbed in jumpsuits like aircraft service personnel.

The décor: Evoking a hangar, the 80-seater joint has metallic finishing and aircraft memorabilia on its walls, sandbags stored under its booth seats and floors with markings to mimic an aircraft runway.

The food: This place offers some of the most satisfying buffalo wings we’ve had in a while. With 10 types to choose from ($8.90 for six, $16.90 for a dozen and $64.90 for 50), we recommend the B52 – Original Buffalo with its extra tangy sauce. The Japanese Zero, an update on teriyaki chicken wings, is even better if it’s crispiness you’re after. Otherwise, go for the signature Honey BBQ, glazed with bourbon sauce. The signature ribs ($29.90 for a full rack) also impress with their great smoky aftertaste.

The drinks: Try the Espresso Martini ($20), a potent mix of vodka, Kahlua, Tia Maria and a shot of Illy coffee. Standards like Saigon beer by the bottle ($8) and a Johnnie Walker Black whiskey by the glass ($14) go well with the heavy bar food, too.

The music: Contemporary pop and dance tunes, although some American rock ’n’ roll would be nice.

The crowd: A post-work corporate crowd and those looking for bar food before and after hitting the party circuit around the vicinity.

Why you’ll be back: Come the second or third week of the month, watch out for the replica aircraft that’ll be displayed near its entrance.
