It might just be what South Beach needs

The modish South Beach precinct has plenty to offer. Besides JW Marriott’s restaurants the likes of Akira Back and Beach Road Kitchen, cool craft beer hangouts like Alchemist Beer Lab and The Armoury, cafes like Caffe Vergnano 1882 and Lady M, among many others, we now get four new ones thanks to The NCO Club opening its doors.

The conservation building’s reopening is a much welcomed one (to help enliven the area) and we finally know what’s behind the curtains since work began in 2015. Anchoring the multi-concept lifestyle destination’s new lease of life is progressive Chinese restaurant Madame Fan, the brainchild of restaurateur Alan Yau. The 222-seater restaurant is positioned as an etiquette-free venue, but serving up fine dining old school classics with a modern twist.

Joining the Madame are Fish Pool and Stags’ Room, that are all open as of Apr 23. The former is a champagne, caviar and oyster bar set beside a diving pool and done in collaboration with Louis Roederer, while the latter is an intimate wine room featuring a reserve of vintage and exclusive wines from America and Australia.

Joining the fray in early June will be Cool Cats, a live music venue and speakeasy offering cocktails and entertainment acts from both local and international music circuits. This might just be the jolt South Beach needs.

The NCO Club is located on 32 Beach Road.
