American whiskies are celebrated while Spanish wines get some love

Drinks-centric events may have taken a break after Singapore Cocktail Festival ended in March, but there’s Beerfest Asia 2017 happening in August to look forward to. Until then, a bunch of events from bar collabs to a Whiskey Weekend will help tide you through the rest of May. Here are 8 of them.

Once Upon a Time in Singapore (May 18)

Hopping (or crawling) between Singapore’s top cocktail bars is all part of the fun of cocktail culture here. But at Tippling Club, it’s the city’s best bars that will come to you. Led by Tippling Club’s head bartender Joe Schofield, Once Upon a Time in Singapore brings together Gibson’s Aki Eguchi, Operation Dagger’s Juan Yijun, 28 HongKong Street’s Joma Rivera, Employees Only’s Bai Jiawei and Manhattan’s Philip Bischoff.

Famous Spanish painter Pablo Picasso once said, “In the 20th century, there were three extraordinary inventions: cubism, blues and Polish vodka”. You might disagree with the statement, and the best way put the matter to rest is to try it out for yourself. Enjoy the drinks with the great views and as the sun sets.

Get whiskey cocktails and craft beers on draft from 28 HongKong Street, Employees Only, Manhattan and Skinny’s Lounge for $10. Travis Masiero from Blue Label Burgers will be filling you with their signature burgers and enjoy barbecued grubs by Dave Pynt of Meatsmith. There’ll be whiskies tasting booth and workshops as well.
