If you’ve been falling behind in the social responsibility department, take heart—Singapore’s only conscious festival is back, to help whoever’s interested improve the way they think, live and consume. Held on Oct 1, Green Is the New Black will feature a series of talks, plus a Mindful Marketplace of environmentally sustainable products and services.

In the marketplace, look out for a curated selection of local fashion, art, beauty and lifestyle brands, chosen for their conscious and mindful business practices. Retail aside, there will be food that’s good for both your body and the planet; live entertainment, interactive art and activities, and a string of short 10-minute talks from change-makers making a difference in their respective industries.

If you’d like to hear more, sign up for the full-length talks and workshops (both ticketed) during the festival. Some key topics include being "consciously selfish"; plastic usage, its detriments and steps to leading a plastic-free life; as well as consumption and the future of food. Making a difference can seem daunting, but everything starts with those little green steps.

Green Is the New Black happens on Oct 1, 11am-7pm, at PARKROYAL on Pickering. Admission to the event is free, and tickets for the talks can be found here
