Swish swish, bish

Katy Perry’s beef with certain singers in the industry is probably pop’s biggest. And whether you want to believe that her hanging out with The Weeknd wasn’t a jibe at Selena Gomez, it’s still pretty entertaining. But all pettiness aside, the otherworldly pop singer is returning to Singapore on Apr 8, 2018 for the Asia leg of her “Witness: The Tour” at Singapore Indoor Stadium, following her previous sold out Prismatic World Tour here in 2015.

Love her or hate her, Perry has received numerous awards and accolades, including four Guinness World Records, five American Music Awards, and the inclusion on the list of Forbes' "Top-Earning Women in Music". The "California Gurls" singer is now on her fifth record, Witness, and she’s not planning on stopping anytime soon. Before its release in June this year, she released three singles that saw collaborations with the likes of Bob Marley's grandson Skip Marley, “Versace” hip-hop trio Migos, and rapper Nicki Minaj.

But out of the three, it was "Swish Swish" that fuelled fans and the media alike. Everyone had a field day with the track because the house track which samples Fatboy Slim's “Star 69” (which actually samples "I Get Deep" by Roland Clark) appeared to be a clapback to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" from 2015, with lyrics like "Don't you come for me, no, not today”. Even Minaj's verse has some eyebrow-raising lyrics: "I only rock with Queens, so I'm makin' hits with Katy" (you can read a blow-by-blow account of Perry vs Swift beef if you're interested here).

Tickets are priced from $128-348 via Sports Hub Tix from Dec 11.
