Sad that it's a brand new work week? Hey, it ain't so bad this time as there is a long weekend (Apr 29-May 1) to look forward to, plus a ton of reasons to head out and drink over the weekdays with places like Timbre+, Manhatten at Regent Singapore and more throwing drinking events throughout the week. There are a few big musicals and theater shows happening as well, so go on and fill your calendars with this list.

Monday, Apr 24

Timbre+ is having a month-long first anniversary celebration and on this final stretch of the party, Strongbow Week will be taking place with the cider brand launching their new Dark Fruit cider here. Be among the first to savor the blackcurrant and blackberry infused beverage in an urban apple orchard set up for the event. Apr 24-29

Manhattan at Regent Singapore, officially the best bar in Singapore, is not resting on its laurels. For its third anniversary celebration, they are hosting celebrated bartenders Nikos Bakoulis and Vasilis Kyritsis from The Clumsies in Athens to bring you their brand of experimental cocktails and re-imagined classics. The world's oldest opera house, San Carlo Theatre of Naples in Italy, is bringing one of the oldest ballet performances in the world, Giselle, to the Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands for four nights only. Giselle tells the tale of forgiveness and betrayal against a haunting backdrop of vengeful, abandoned brides. Apr 26-29

St Paddy and Singapore Cocktail Festival may be over, and you may be pining for another big-scale boozy event. This month, there’s the spring edition of 1855 The Bottle Shop’s now-famed Wine & Whisky Week happening at Suntec City on Apr 19-30. There’ll be more than 500 wines and whiskies, among them, varieties of Old World and New World pinot noirs, magnums from seven notable Bordeaux estates and award-winning labels from Australia, Spain and more. Apr 19-30

Wild Rice has pulled all the stops for the Singapore adaptation of iconic musical, La Cage Aux Folles. Starring Ivan Heng in fabulous drag, the play is set in La Cage, a famous nightclub in Tanjong Pagar, which a conservative politician wants to shut down. Confusion and hilarity ensues when the son of the nightclub’s host decides to marry the politician’s daughter. Through May 13

Cooking Beats at Kilo Kallang is back for its third installment and this time, guest chef Mario Malvaez (former head chef of Super Loco) brings to the kitchen his take on Mexican cuisine inspired by his growing up years. Apr 27

Major art events like the Singapore Design Week and #BuySingLit may have just passed, but you can continue your cultural pursuits at the annual Singapore Art Book Fair, which returns for its fourth year. This edition features over 40 exhibitors, including an entire section on women zines and return vendors like local photographer Robert Zhao. Apr 28-30
